I'm not sure what to make of this story.
It's about a couple bros in ancient Greece who are super good at sculpting and are just... the BEST BROS. (Lovecraft was a homophobe, so I'm pretty sure they're not gay, just GREAT BROS.) They each get a commission from the Tyrant of Syracuse to create a statue, start working, and one of the bros dies. The final request of the bro who died is that some olive branches from a grove he really liked be buried by his head. In three years, when the live bro finishes his statue, those branches have grown into a tree that overhangs the living bro's studio. On the night before the Syracusans are supposed to pick up the statue, a storm knocks the olive tree over, destroying the studio and the statue. The bro who was still alive just disappears, and they never find him or his body.
So were they just so in love, and now they're together forever in death? Or did dead bro get jealous that the Syracusans were gonna take live bro's statue, so he destroyed it?
idk... Do you?
